Featured Photographer: Geno Photography

I really love the wonderful photographers that I get to work with, and to show them my appreciation I'd like to give each one a featured post, so expect a week of every month's posts to be dedicated to pictures of squishy newborn goodness, glowing bellies, thriving toddlers and beautiful families. I am not perked in any way to write these posts, I just like to be able to showcase each one more than just "sharing" their photos on Facebook.

Geno Photography

See my first post on Geno Photography here. I absolutely love working with Carrie Geno, the owner and photographer at Geno Photography. She isn't just a photographer to me, because she has also been taking my children's photos since my oldest was 6 months old (he is now almost 3!). She is an absolutely flawless prop photographer, highlighting details I could only dream of. Here are some recent photos she has taken for me.

{These two girls are daughters, are they not just absolutely beautiful?!}

A lot of people forget that I crochet items for every age and size {for no extra charge}, so I sent some items to her and requested a couple of photos so that I could showcase older children too. I absolutely love how these turned out! The snowy background- perfect! And I love that she was able to match her daughter's coats to the headband and hat too, it really makes each item pop!

You can purchase the earwarmer headband here, and earflap hat with flower here; just specify which sizes you need. You can also send me an e-mail at casscrochetcreations@yahoo.com to get started on your custom order.

She also photographed some newborn stuff for me, it turned out so cute!

Don't you just love newborn goodness? Even better, these were a set of twins! Yup, really. Go check out more info on Geno Photography at her website here, her blog here, her Facebook page here, and be sure to check out more work here!

You can purchase the bear hat here, baby boots here, or toddler boots here. You can specify size and color for each item.

Happy Monday!

For the love of buttons...

I made it again! Maybe I can actually make this a regular thing? How many posts in a row until I can stop mentioning that I am actually creating posts in a row? 3? Alright, I'll stop.

My new favorite thing is buttons. I love adding buttons to hats. My daughter's go-to fall beanie isn't very extravagant, but I think the button just really ups (Is that a word? Beyond the guys who deliver new yarn and lots of buttons to my front door?) the cute factor.

Infant Crochet Boots (FREE SHIPPING)

I sent a couple of similar hats to two of my photographers, Geno Photography and Liz Ann Marcus for some sweet pics. Carrie (over at Geno Photography) is still waiting for her newbie to arrive, so she sent me a product photo to hold me over until she fills my inbox with squishy newborn goodness.

I love it, and I can't wait to see what she does with it once she has a model to try it on.

If you follow my Facebook page then you probably saw the most adorable photo ever:

Ah, so cute right?! Well it must be your lucky day, because photographer Liz Ann Marcus (located in Spicer, Minnesota for you locals) sent me another photo of this sweet babe in one of my favorite hats.

Droolworthy, eh? If that doesn't make you want to have lots of sweet babies then I don't know what will!

Happy Wednesday!

Alright, so I haven't technically worked with Carrie Geno from Geno Photography business-wise, but she has been taking my children's pictures for an entire 2 years now, (I wish I had known of her for my 2.5 year old's newborn pics!) and I really appreciate all of the work that she puts into making sure that I get the pictures that I dream of.

This hat is one of my creations from 2 years ago, at my now 2.5 year old's 9 month photo session!

These photos are from a year and a half ago at my now 2.5 year old's 1 year photo session!

Here you can see a photo of my favorite creation, crochet boots, peeking out under the cute shag rug at his 2 year birthday session!

My second child, (a girl!) was born at the very end of February and I was thrilled to have Carrie take beautiful newborn photos for me. I just dropped a pile of props on the floor and let her choose her favorites, she ended up using my daughter's newborn blanket, a long tail elf hat, and a giraffe hat, in colors that match her adorable bedroom.

Carrie is located in Wellman, Iowa, but she is worth the drive if you don't live in Wellman! We live outside of the Cedar Rapids/Hiawatha area and drive a total of an hour (each way!) to have her take our children's photos twice a year. Yes, she really is that good! You can check out her website for pricing information, her zenfolio for more of her work (my kids' summer pictures were just posted!), her blog to get a taste of her sweet personality, and her Facebook to be a fan!

Favoritism

So we are pretty bad about "favoriting" certain hats over others. For example, this hat I made specifically for Carter's 9 month photos, and he hasn't worn it since!
(BTW, how AMAZING is the photography? If you live in Iowa, check out Geno Photography, she has beautiful work and does everything from babies to weddings!)

Anyways, since we were getting bored of our current favorite hat, I decided to make a new favorite. We debated between white lining and light blue, but in the end decided that the white was cuter!
What do you think? Is it done? Should I put a pom on top? Originally we decided that this little aviator hat (it reminds me of Amelia Earhart's hat!) was too cute for a pom but now I'm second guessing so leave your vote!

Do you have any favorite items of yours or your children's? A favorite outfit or accessory? Let me know!
