Custom Order!

This week I had a custom order for a pair of black shoes with pearl buttons and ribbon bows for a new baby girl! I knew that they would be cute cute from the beginning, but goodness! They are super cute!

Here are a few photos before I attached the ribbon to the front of the shoes.

I just love the pearl buttons! The lip at the top is completely adjustable, too! Here are a few photos after I attached the ribbon (in other words, here the cute shoes are- done!)

Aren't they just the cutest baby shoes you have ever seen?! Absolutely adorable! I love the look of the lace and pearls with the hot pink and black, vintage meets modern?

These shoes are available in any colors you would like, and are currently listed in my Etsy shop here without the bow, and here with the bow. If you have any questions, feel free to e-mail me at casscrochetcreations@yahoo.com.

Happy Friday!

Ribbet, Ribbet!

I try to crochet at least one complete item every day during my children's naptime, so if I don't have a custom order that needs sent out then I work up my own designs! This was one of those items where I sat on the couch staring at my basket of yarn deciding what to crochet, when the green just kept staring at me, so I pulled it out and crocheted up this cute little guy!

I could definitely make this guy a little more girly by adding a pink flower or bow also, so don't let the "boyness" of Mr. Frog deter you.

Because I crocheted this guy up from my own imagination, I currently have one ready to ship in a 6-12 month size! Follow my Etsy listing here to purchase, or e-mail me at casscrochetcreations@yahoo.com. All ready to ship items are guaranteed to ship within 24 hours.

Custom Order!

Yesterday I got a custom order for a giraffe hat for an unborn baby boy named Jaxon! She was looking for a deep yellow for the main part, with brown for the accents. I ended up having the perfect yellow on hand, and I was able to get it crocheted up yesterday and shipped out today! My official turn-around time is 3-5 business days, but now that I have a postal scale and all shipping supplies at home, I am able to ship directly from my mailbox so much quicker!

I think this little guy just turned out absolutely adorable! I may even like him better than the girly one I made for my daughter's newborn photos!

If you are interested in a giraffe hat of your own, you can check out my Etsy listing here, and leave me the details in the "message to seller" portion! If you don't have an Etsy account, you can send me an e-mail at casscrochetcreations@yahoo.com to get your order set up!

Valentine's Day 2013 Collection

Just as I promised yesterday; my Valentine's Day Collection! There is still about a week left to order in time for Valentine's Day delivery, so go ahead and check it out!

Starting with my gorgeous new heart headband. This one is my absolute favorite! It can be attached to a thinner elastic, I just love the way it looks with a thicker band! I currently have one of these RTS, but I haven't finished the elastic yet, so it can be any size!

Please excuse my daughter's face in this photo. This was the day before a snow storm, she was mad because the cement was cold. Can you blame her?

I love this girly striped set! Sadly, I don't have any photos of it on a cutie patootie, hopefully I will soon! (All photos below this point taken by TuLeaf Photography in New York, check her out!)

Next up is my chocolate kiss hat, this is my current favorite! How cute would this look on a newborn with a light pink blanket in the background? Gorg!

And my most popular item of the Valentine's collection has been saved for last. This cute beanie is perfect for the little guy in your life!

You can check out the Etsy link for each item above, or shoot me an e-mail at casscrochetcreations@yahoo.com to get your order started!

Happy Friday!

Custom Order!

I haven't written a blog post specifically dedicated to my Valentine's Day 2013 collection, so I will share that with you tomorrow, but I did post it all up on Facebook and Etsy, and I ended up with an order for one of my Valentine's Day beanies!

These photos were taken by TuLeaf Photography in New York for her mini Valentine's Day sessions:

I love the simplicity of it. It is very obviously a hat for Valentine's Day, yet it is also screams "BOY!", which can be tough to design. Girl designs are requested so much more often, that I tried to make sure that there were boy versions available also. I love the way it came out, and I am so thrilled that someone else enjoyed the beanie too!

If you are interested in purchasing the beanie (you are always welcome to change any of the colors), follow the link to my Etsy link here. Don't forget to come back tomorrow for more of my Valentine's collection!

Happy Thursday!

Custom Order!

I live in Iowa, and it is definitely still chilly enough for earwarmer headbands out here. Shoot, we even had an ice storm the other day, and snow appeared today! But, this custom order isn't even for someone local. My customer purchased it for a friend of hers out in Switzerland! Very cool, eh?

I absolutely love the way the gray and cream look wound together, and the wood button really finishes it off! If you are interested in purchasing your own earwarmer headband (in any colors you'd like!), send me an e-mail at casscrochetcreations@yahoo.com or check out my Etsy listing here.

Happy Wednesday!

Custom Order!

I recently had a custom order request for a Winnie the Pooh hat and cocoon. I absolutely loved the idea of it, and couldn't wait to get started!

It was my first time working up a cocoon, so it took me several tries days to get it right, but based on the dimensions of it, it should fit a newborn perfectly! Oh, and for anyone wondering- yes. Making newborn baby hats, cocoons, etc. makes me have baby fever. The items are just so tiny!

I love how it turned out, and I hope my customer does too! Her baby is due in the next couple of months, so hopefully after baby boy is born we will see photos of him in the hat and cocoon gracing my Facebook page!

If you are interested in purchasing your own Winnie the Pooh set, see my Etsy listing here.

Happy Tuesday!

New Boy Design!

How many times do you see items geared towards girls? Headbands, lace, frills and dresses? I'm pretty guilty of that myself! My girl has tons of headbands {I get mine from Birdie Baby Boutique, where do you get yours?}, crochet boots, cute outfits, etc., while my guy is... well, lacking in that area. Don't get me wrong, he wears nice clothes, but he isn't always as head to toe decked out as she is. I don't always make sure his hat, shoes and gloves match his outfit, I just make sure that he actually has them on. I've been working on some new boy designs lately to combat it, so that all of the new mommas of boys don't feel left out!

I am love love loving this set! The colors can be changed out for any colors you'd like as always. You can purchase the set as the beanie and diaper cover or the pixie hat and diaper cover over in my Etsy shop. You can add a wood button to either hat for an additional cost.

Happy Monday!

Custom Order!

Just as I promised you yesterday, I have a hooded cowl to share with you! This cowl is so beautiful, I really don't have a lot of words to explain it, so I'll just share photos!

The cowl is available in any color yarn and buttons. It is crocheted with a thicker yarn and is a great way to be fashionable and warm at the same time!

I don't have it listed on Etsy yet, so if you are interested in ordering, feel free to send me an e-mail at casscrochetcreations@yahoo.com. Hopefully the customer who ordered it will post photos of her daughter wearing it on my Facebook page!

Happy Tuesday!

Toy Storage Crate

Long time no blog, eh?

Yea... sorry about that! I haven't had many custom orders lately, mostly Mickey and Minnie hats. Not that I am unhappy about those, I love crocheting them! However, I've made it clear that I love custom orders, so don't be shy! Come out of the shade and tell me whatcha want!

I posted about my son's new closet toy storage with part one and part two, you guys love suspense, right? (Oh, and in those photos I was short two chalkboard labels, well Michael's finally restocked their wood section, so I was able to pick up two more! You guys don't need a photo update on that, right?) Well, I loved my son's crates so much that I decided to paint one up for my daughter's toys too! She doesn't have quite as many toys as he does, so all of her toys fit in this one crate. (Besides her favorite toy ever- Weebles! They are just too big to fit in the crate.) The rocking chair pictured is also from Michael's, we gave it to A as a Santa gift for Christmas this year. I stock up on coupons, and was able to get 50% off of both the rocking chair and the crate! I ended up paying around $25 for the rocking chair and $6 for the crate. What a deal, eh?!

I am too lazy to walk across the room to see what the paint colors are don't have the paint colors handy, but if you let me know which color you are interested in, I can let you know what it is. The lavender is a much deeper color than the photo depicts. I actually love purchasing The Organic Bloom frames, I get them from a local photographer, RST Photography. I have a couple for A's room that are espresso and lavender, so I purchased the same Benjamin Moore lavender color that OB uses on their frames. The espresso is a secret mix, so I couldn't purchase that, I just went with a deep brown that I liked.

It's beautiful! And yes, my daughter's room is lavender and brown, and I've been having a heck of a time finding inspiration photos! If you know of any super cute lavender rooms, drop me a link in the comment section!

I'll be back tomorrow with a custom order for a hooded cowl, you won't want to miss it!

Happy Monday!

Custom Order!

I'm baaaack! I had some internet problems, but I am back and ready to hit the ground running with this blogging thing.

I had a customer request a monster hat, with a specific color palette and design in mind. I could tell from the beginning that the hat would be super cute, but man! It's even cuter than I imagined.

He is ridiculously cute, right?! These kinds of brightly colored, incredibly fun hats are such great photo props!

As soon as I completed it, my 2 year old (almost 3!) instantly wanted it. When I told him that it wasn't for him, he no longer cared for his monkey hat or cookie monster hat. I may have to find some extra time to crochet one up for him.

If you would like to order a monster hat (in any colors you choose!), check out my Etsy listing here, or e-mail me at casscrochetcreations@yahoo.com.

Happy Tuesday!

Creative Hat Giveaway Reveal!

Remember how I did a creative crochet hat giveaway on my Facebook page? That was such a fun giveaway! I loved reading everyone's unique ideas on how they would like to customize a hat! I ended up going with the Hello Kitty hat designed by Lisa Leslein, (and when I went to ship it, I realized that she lives only one town over from me- so weird!) and I love how it turned out!

I think it looks so cool, and I hope Lisa's niece does too! You can purchase a Hello Kitty hat for $25 (shipping already included) by e-mailing me at casscrochetcreations@yahoo.com.

Cookie Monster Hat

A lot of times, my inspiration for projects comes from my children. My son, in specific, will just tell me what kind of hat he wants. I recently crocheted him a monkey hat, and while he liked it, pretty soon after he was pretty bored, and in need of a new hat. I'm talking a couple days here, folks. He moves quick like his momma.

His request this time?

Yup, a cookie monster hat.

I love the little details I added; like the googly eyes and the cookies hanging from the braids. However, in reality, my opinion was not the one that mattered. C's thoughts? He was in love.

You can see the listing for the cookie monster hat here, or just send me an e-mail at casscrochetcreations@yahoo.com to get started on your order.

Happy Saturday!

Custom Order!

I recently had a custom order for a baby beanie with a heart on it. I love the turquoise, purple, hot pink and light pink wound together, it looks beautiful!

Simple beanies with one embellishment are $15, shipping included. The embellishment can be anything from a heart to a flower or button. You can even shoot me an e-mail if you have something else in mind that you would like to put on a hat {football applique? tractor applique?}, and I can let you know if it is possible. Don't forget to like my Facebook page for sneak peeks of more fun hats!

Blog Love

How many of you like to read blogs? What are your favorite ones to read? I am always looking for new blogs to read! My favorites are crochet {of course}, photography, decor and DIY. I also like to read the random life blogs too. In no particular order, here are my favorites:

I think these are all of my favorites, I will go back and add more if I think of them though! {Note, I didn't get any kind of perk for listing my favorite bloggers here, these are just the guys ladies that I like to log into once a day. Generally in the morning. With a cup of something hot.} Do you write a blog? Or read them? List your favorites {including your own blog!} below, so that I can check them out!

Happy Thursday!

Custom Order!

I recently had a customer request a sock monkey hat, to which I obliged of course! I always love when customers give me an idea that I haven't done before.

She requested cream for the top half, light pink for the middle, and for the bottom she requested cream and tan wound together. It's incredibly difficult to see, sadly, but in person it is very cute! Maybe if we're lucky she'll post a photo of the little girl wearing it over on my Facebook page!

I love the way it turned out, and I'm hoping that they love it too! I don't have this sock monkey hat listed on my Etsy yet, but they are $30 with shipping and tax included. They can be customized in any color or size for no additional cost. Shoot me an e-mail at casscrochetcreations@yahoo.com if you are interested in placing an order for one.

Happy Wednesday!

Creative Hat Giveaway Winner!

Happy New Year! Can you believe it is already 2013?! This year just flew by for me; I gave birth to my second child, I quit my full time job to stay home and I jump started my crochet business! I am so excited to see what 2013 has in store for me!

With the new year I had a new giveaway! Instead of my typical "worth $20" or "worth $25" giveaway, I decided to have one where you could design your own earflap hat and I could choose my favorite.

Drumroll please!

The giveaway winner is Lisa Leslein!

While all of you gave wonderful and creative ideas, I love the idea of designing a Hello Kitty hat! I know that it will turn out incredible, and I will be sure to share pictures as soon as it is finished!

Lisa, please e-mail me at casscrochetcreations@yahoo.com by midnight tonight to claim your prize! Thank you to all who entered, and be sure to keep referring friends to my page, as I will be having my next giveaway at 200 likes {just 34 likes away!}, and then my following giveaway will be a referral giveaway!

Happy Tuesday!

Featured Photographer: Geno Photography

I really love the wonderful photographers that I get to work with, and to show them my appreciation I'd like to give each one a featured post, so expect a week of every month's posts to be dedicated to pictures of squishy newborn goodness, glowing bellies, thriving toddlers and beautiful families. I am not perked in any way to write these posts, I just like to be able to showcase each one more than just "sharing" their photos on Facebook.

Geno Photography

See my first post on Geno Photography here. I absolutely love working with Carrie Geno, the owner and photographer at Geno Photography. She isn't just a photographer to me, because she has also been taking my children's photos since my oldest was 6 months old (he is now almost 3!). She is an absolutely flawless prop photographer, highlighting details I could only dream of. Here are some recent photos she has taken for me.

{These two girls are daughters, are they not just absolutely beautiful?!}

A lot of people forget that I crochet items for every age and size {for no extra charge}, so I sent some items to her and requested a couple of photos so that I could showcase older children too. I absolutely love how these turned out! The snowy background- perfect! And I love that she was able to match her daughter's coats to the headband and hat too, it really makes each item pop!

You can purchase the earwarmer headband here, and earflap hat with flower here; just specify which sizes you need. You can also send me an e-mail at casscrochetcreations@yahoo.com to get started on your custom order.

She also photographed some newborn stuff for me, it turned out so cute!

Don't you just love newborn goodness? Even better, these were a set of twins! Yup, really. Go check out more info on Geno Photography at her website here, her blog here, her Facebook page here, and be sure to check out more work here!

You can purchase the bear hat here, baby boots here, or toddler boots here. You can specify size and color for each item.

Happy Monday!
